I’ve really been enjoying posting everyday this past week and I’d like to continue the trend. Now, I may not always have as interesting a subject as documenting a bow making class, but I shall try and post something thought provoking, or entertaining, or at least something not too trivial or banal everyday.
Today’s post touches on a subject that I’ve been thinking of writing about for awhile: the power of positive thinking. I know, it’s cheesy, but there’s generally a lot of truth to be found in cheese, besides protein and fat and calcium.
There are some days, where it feels like nothing will go right: You wake up and step on a lego brick, you hit your head both getting into and out of your car, your shoe lace breaks, it’s raining, nobody’s being nice to you. On such days, when the world seems determined that to make me miserable, there’s one trick that makes me feel better and that’s to pretend that everyone in the world can hear what I’m thinking and I don’t want to offend anyone.
It’s a step beyond thinking good thoughts, which is easier said than done. If you pretend that everyone is psychic, then you think complimentary thoughts, then your outward behavior improves, it becomes easier to smile and then maybe somebody will smile back.
Thank you for reading.
