Okay we’re just over halfway through September so time to see how I’m dong with my self-motivated challenge of doing 30 short story submissions in 30 days.
Answer: it’s going quite well. It’s day 17 and I’ve submitted 12 stories a total of 19 times. I’ve received 7 rejections, 3 of which have been personalized.
I’m actually running into a problem that isn’t really a problem: I’m not getting as many rejections as I had anticipated which means I’ve had to revise more unedited stories and write more completely new stories than I’d initially thought I’d have to. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled that I haven’t been gettng a rejection almost every day like last year, but I’m having to do so much more work.
Anyway, thanks for reading my bragging/complaining. Hopefully, I can maintain this pace for another 13 days. Who knows, maybe I’ll even get some acceptances out of this month.
